Fashion Friday: The Perfect Palette

I have a few things, to be really happy about this week. One of the best things ever, I got to spend lots of time with one of my best friends. Oh Lola, I miss you so!! Her and her honey are in town this week. And they're my inspiration, for this post.

Well, not too long ago, Lola posted about the Shore to Sea dress. From Modcloth. She LOVES Modcloth. And it's not terribly priced. $55 for a cute dress. That can be worn from Spring to Summer. And it's right on trend, with color blocking.

Lola is also responsible, for introducing me to The Perfect Palette. Shortly after Scott and I got engaged, she told me I had to look at 2 places, for ideas. The Perfect Palette, and Pinterest. Both have been amazing help!!

I'm pretty sure that I've talked about The Perfect Palette before. Because it's one of my labels. I truly adore this website. Not only did it help me, with my wedding planning. But it's a nice place, to go for inspiration. All the boards and palettes are just lovely!!

Back to this week's post. My friend is in town. And her love, invited us, to spend the weekend with them. Doing some "sporty" things. Which I know, will be fun!! They are one of the best couples, to spend time with!! In honor of Blue Eyes, and what he does, I give you "Blue and Green" inspiration!!

This dress, directly reminds me of Lola. This palette of Blue Eyes. I think it would be so fun, to completely recreate this look. At least for Sunday. Instead, I'm going to use this, as inspiration.

I'm thinking my kelly green blouse. It's got the same flowy character as this dress. With my cobalt blue jeans. And flats!! Did I mention? We are going to be walking all weekend. But it will be fun! I'm going to carry my green clutch. And search from some green or blue earrings. Maybe I'll find something similar to these. :)

This is going to be such a fun weekend! We've already done so many fun things this week, Met for breakfasts, dinners, and shopping. Lola and I have cooked, and baked together. We've also gone over some last minute wedding ideas and plans. Oh, I wish we lived closer!! I miss my friend so much. ~V

Fashion Friday: Summer Style

I've been looking for some new, and fun summer pieces. It's been crazy warm around here. But Texas weather, is generally warm. This year though, we've had some odd weather. You know, one day it feels like summer. The next day, it's cold as ever!

Maybe that's why, I've been yearning for some new summer staples. My closet needs a little "refreshing." And I've been searching through Polyvore and Pinterest a lot. A LOT!! Just ask Scott. He thinks I'm nuts! My closet is full. But I just feel like, there is nothing to wear....

I've been looking for something fun. With some color. But with some class. Polished. Yet perfect for summer. I think I found it, when I found this pin....

What do you think? I've got a similar handbag, and sunglasses. But those shoes, bangles, and blouse....I want them all!! The color screams summer to me. Just screams it! There's something ladylike about this outfit. Without being stuffy. But still fun. Now, where do I find all these pieces? ~V

A Treat....

Are you surprised? 4 posts. Just this week! That's a big change, from a few months ago. I guess it's just a sign, of the changes going on. Around here anyway. I've been trying to keep my blog updated. And fun. I hope I'm doing a good job!

Here at the hospital, we got 7 days in a row, off of work!! Can you believe that?? I decided to work 3 of those days. Just so I could take some time off, for our wedding. It's not that bad. I will still have a 4 day weekend. Scott and I, will still head out to visit family. It has actually turned into a blessing for all!

Our plans for Easter, are pretty simple. Nothing too complicated. A trip to our families' homes. A little time on the Ranch. A break from reality. Heck, I even volunteered to make breakfast, on Easter morning!!

It's been ridiculously slow around here. I'm the only RD, in the hospital. But our assistants are still working. So I'm not completely alone. And we don't have much work to do. What does that mean?? Lots of free time. And blog reading.

I found a new blog. White Lights on Wednesday. And this scrumptious recipe! Can you imagine Carrot Cake Pancakes on Easter morning??

Maybe it's just me, but I've always thought about carrot cake, as a cake for Easter. It's like those yummy coconut cakes, that my grandma makes. With the coconut dyed green. And jellybeans hidden all around. Yup. That's what I think of!

Maybe it's because the flavors are so crisp. Fresh. And light. Add in some cream cheese frosting, and yum! That's why I about jumped for joy, when I seen this recipe. It's all the bells and whistles, that a gal could ask for. Now to figure out, the rest of my menu, for Easter morning! ~V

All I Can Say Is YUM!!

I seen this post last week. I was quickly skimming through, some of my favorite blogs. And I was on my lunch break. Not a whole lot of time to kill. So I bookmarked, the ones I thought I'd come back to.

About 5 minutes ago, I got off the phone with Lola. It was partially a work related call. Partially, let's catch up. Girl just had a birthday!!

Lola was telling me, how she started making treats for Easter. We're talking days here people. How did Easter come so quick?? And she mentioned Easter Bark. She's the "Queen of Bark!" At least in my book. Well, that got me thinking about this post again!!

How can I sneak out of work?? I want to make this! What's not to love?? White chocolate, M&Ms, sprinkles, coconut. Spring screams coconut to me!! Makes me think of the coconut grass cakes my grandma makes for Easter. With the jelly beans, placed in the middle of all that green coconut! :) I'm thinking....try this 2 ways.

One, like Lola. White chocolate, a little coconut, M&Ms, sprinkles, maybe some nuts. Then try some bark like Shay. But with a twist. Some chocolate, jelly beans, some fun sprinkles, and dyed green coconut (lots of it!) Yum! I just need the ingredients. The microwave is right here. Can 5pm get here any faster?? ~V

What Happened to Grateful Belly??

I have a little secret. Yes, I'm a dietitian. But I have a ridiculous sweet tooth. Like CRAZY sweet tooth. It has a mind of it's own.

Some time last Spring, I found this delightful blog. Grateful Belly was loaded with recipes. More specifically, I was drawn to the sweet treats.

It's been a while since I last visited Grateful Belly. As in a few months. I haven't done a whole lot of blog reading lately. It really is a shame. But life has been pretty busy.

Today I was looking through Pinterest. Looking for something fun to make. For Easter. It's just around the corner. And I wanted to make something fun, to take home. I found this pin....

I almost squealed in delight. No lie! Until, I clicked on the link. And there was nothing there. No Grateful Belly. Just some dumb message from Google. Saying the blog name was available. Boo!

I wasn't satisfied. I went through my bookmarks and starting clicking away. No luck! I did a search on Google. Nothing. Where did Grateful Belly go?? Does anyone know? I really liked a whole lot of the recipes and methods, on that blog. I could kick myself for not printing more of those pages.... ~V

Fashion Friday: A Splash of Green

This week, I took a day off of work. Today. Scott and I, decided we needed a day together. A bit of a "Date Day." Life has been so stressful lately, and we just needed to reconnect. Scott took the reins, and planned our entire day. I have no idea, what we're doing. Just that I need to be dressed comfortably.

Being that St. Patty's Day, is on Sunday, I've been thinking about all things green. I spent a bit of time, in the last 2 weeks, looking for green outfits. And I found one, that I really liked. That wasn't your traditional, St. Patty's Day outfit.

In fact, I'm really in love with this. Again, I had the jeans. And my favorite black sweater. It's thin and light. Perfect for this time of year! The rest, well I needed a little help there. While I was looking for this scarf last week, I decided to look for a few pieces for this outfit too.

I found the perfect zebra print flats, at Target! And I picked up a lime green scarf there too. As far as the clutch, and earrings....I headed to Forever 21. I found the perfect clutch, that matches my scarf perfectly! And I picked up some simple silver earrings. They just felt more like my style. Not too over the top.

With all that shopping, and preparing, you would have thought I would wear this outfit today. Nope! I decided to save it for Sunday. We're headed to a St. Patty's Day dinner, with some of our friends. What will you be wearing on Sunday? ~V

The Bible

Have you been watching The Bible? I wasn't going to start watching it. I was hearing all the hype. And just thought it was some Hollywood stuff. But then, I watched it. After talking to Lola, she got me thinking. It can't be too bad. Let me give it a try....

And now I'm hooked! As in, I look forward to Sunday nights. Why? To see what's going to happen next. I mean, we all know the story of the bible. But this mini movie, well it just brings it to life. Makes all those things, we've learned over time, real.

There have been parts, when I cry. I'm on the edge of my seat. Where I feel like I'm really there. It has been such a blessing!! And because of Scott and I's new "turn" with religion....I think I've been way more emotional than normal!!

In case you don't know, Scott and I were both raised as Christians. We came from a small Ranching Community. And this is just the way of life. When we went to college, we went to a small town. In a neighboring state. But still in a small town.

Our new friends, were mostly Catholics. And the more time we spent with them, the more we would attend church with them. Then we moved. We continued to worship, in our Christian community. But we were missing something. Something was missing. And we prayed.

Little by little, we found ourselves yearning for more. With all the challenges that our wedding has brought, we prayed more. And we ultimately found ourselves here. Becoming Catholics. Taking an extra year, to "become a true Catholic." All before we were married. It's been an emotional road. But one, that I'm glad we've walked.

Scott and I, have turned these Sundays, into "Date Nights." We cook a yummy dinner together. And get ready to watch. We look forward to the upcoming episodes. We pre-ordered the DVD. And The Bible has encouraged much more conversation. Much more prayer. And a new intimacy, with the man I love! ~V

Fashion Friday: A Little Leopard

You don't even know, how long it took me to find this outfit. 8+ hours? A few days? I can't be certain. But it's taken a while....

I originally seen it, on my friend Lola's blog. Then I couldn't find it. Monday, I logged onto Pinterest at work. I had some "down time," between meetings. I seen this outfit on the first page that loaded. Then my browser window, just shut down....

I think I wanted to cry. Because I liked the look of the outfit. I knew that I wanted to show it to you. I wanted to try and recreate it. But how could I? I couldn't even find the pin....

Last night, I was talking to Lola. While trying to find an outfit, to blog about. When I got a happy little email. With this picture in it!!

This really isn't my typical style. But it looked so fun! I have a pair of leopard flats, from college. I NEVER wear them. Because I don't know what to wear them with. Like most women, I have a favorite pair of jeans. And some pretty gold jewelry.

I kept digging through my closet, and found a pretty red shirt. I'm a little ashamed to say, it still has the tags on it! I might have bought it on Black Friday. But I'm not certain.

I just have 1 piece to find. A leopard scarf. You know, it's what makes this outfit. And well, it gives me an excuse to go shopping tonight!!

What have you been inspired by lately? Is there a specific blog, Pinterest page, or Polyvore page that you love? Is there a designer, or store, that is inspiring you? I'd really like to hear all about your fashion adventures. ~V

Fashion Friday: Neon

A few months ago, I came across this fun picture on Pinterest. I LOVED it! Something about the neon colors. They weren't obnoxious neons. But fun colors. Something that made me smile.

I adored the simplicity of the outfit. With a fun mix of colors. Something about this outfit, just screams fun! Warm weather. And girl "go get you come of those pants!!"

This past weekend, I went shopping. With my sister. I told her I wanted to buy some fun pieces. Something I wouldn't normally wear. I wanted something fun, and a bit trendy. My sister thought I was nuts!!

The entire time, I had this picture in mind. In October or November, I bought some really fun high heels at Target. They're not quite this bright. But still a fun play, on this look. I really wanted some pants, that are this color. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. I couldn't find anything, this bright. Not at Target or Forever 21. Where I generally find my "fun clothes."

I did buy a pair of fuchsia jeans. So fun!! They are a bit longer, than these jeans. But still nice and skinny. I also got a cute clutch. Hello Target! In a aqua color. I have my outfit, laying out on the bed. It looks so cute!

It's a slightly different color palette. But it works. For this "change in seasons." A little darker. But still so fun! I also bought some men's white t-shirts. Oh my goodness!! They are so comfy.

But on the top of my Wish List, is still a pair of these pants. I want something bright like this. Maybe it reminds me of being in 5th grade. Strutting around the playground. Loving all my crazy, colored clothes. That only my grandma could appreciate. Then again, in the middle of "Ranch Land," people didn't care what you wore. What the trends were. 99.9% of people, wore Wranglers or Rockies. With cowboy boots. And some sort of t-shirt.

Yes, I've always been one to stick out, in a crowd. But I don't care. As long as, I like what I'm wearing. Is anyone else like me? A bit of an "outlaw?" It's OK. We make life a little more interesting. ~V

Fashion Friday: Pop of Orange

It's nearly Spring. Which means, Summer is not too far away. It may sound crazy, that I'm talking about Summer in February. But in Texas, we sort of "skip" lots of seasons. Mostly, it's just plain hot here!

With warm weather, I always think of a few key items. Shorts, sandals, and a navy striped shirt. I know, that's pretty random. But I always think of navy stripes, when I think of Summer. And recently, all I can think of, is Summer. Maybe our "heatwave," has a little something to do with that.

But it's too early, even for me, to pull out the navy, white, and red. That combination just screams "Summer" holidays to me! I'm not quite that ready for Summer. Not yet. But navy and orange? I can do that!

I first seen this combination on Lola's blog. In the form of a nursery! I know. How random. But I remember, I really liked it. And I was determined to look for something similar. In terms of clothing. Yes, I found it! What do you think?

I can see this working. Even right now. Just with a little modification. I'm thinking an orange scarf, with a navy blazer. No necklace. That will dress it up a bit. But also make it "seasonally" appropriate. Even here in Texas, I feel weird walking around, without a jacket. I don't care how warm, the weatherman says it is!

Do you ever get inspired, by random pictures? Certain color combinations? Or "out of season" pieces? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Now I'm off to go dig out my orange flats. And contemplate a trip to Charming Charlie. I need some orange bangles and earrings. ~V

Fashion Friday: Precious Pink

This is week 2, of our Valentine's Day celebration. Don't be jealous of me. Honestly, for the last month, Scott has been away for almost 3 weeks. Work for him, has been so crazy! Both of us, are sort of exploring new possibilities in our careers. But it makes for a lot of complicated schedules.

Back to our little celebration. We decided to take some time off work. As in, we ran away from the city. And to our families' homes. Or as our "City Friends" like to say, out to the Ranch. It has been a blessing. With so much happening in the next few months, it's what we've needed!

Today is all about Scott and I. I've packed us lots of snacks. And a picnic lunch. Perfect for 2!! We are headed out on the horses. And I needed something comfy, to go with our day. Hello Pinterest!! I come calling. And you answer so perfectly!!

I wanted to go with something very casual. But still put together. Something I knew, I could go riding in, enjoy a picnic, and some running around. Not an easy task. I know!! But I think this outfit, hits all the marks.

Of course, all "County Gals" own comfy jeans. I didn't have to worry about this. And a white t-shirt....it's just a basic staple. I've got a few comfy, and stylish ones! The pink and white chevron scarf, was actually a Valentine's Day present from Lola! What a great friend she is!!

Before leaving the city, I made sure to paint my nails, a perfect pink color. It also went well with my Valentine's Day dress. I brought out my brown baubles from last week. With a brown belt.

Then I took a little detour. I knew what our plans, for the day were. So I needed to modify this outfit a bit. I brought my brown leather jacket, from last week. And my pink cowboy boots. Yes, I have a pair! No, I didn't buy them for myself. But I'm so glad I have them! Hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day! ~V

Fashion Friday: Chocolate Brown

Is anyone else disappointed, that Valentine's Day is on a Thursday this year? Maybe it's just me. But I'm really not feeling it. To make up for it, and the fact that Scott has been working nonstop. Hundreds of miles away. We're going to celebrate. For 2 weekends!!

For one of my outfits, I wanted something I could wear out, while we are shopping. But that is still nice enough, for a dinner date. Maybe something I could layer. Is anyone else experiencing this odd weather? Really, I don't remember it ever being this....well indecisive. So here is my inspiration.

I think the idea is so fun! Comfy jeans....check! A flirty eyelet blouse....check. Mine is more of a long tunic, with more of a tank top sleeve. Brown leather jacket....check, check, check!! I have lots of brown accessories from Charming Charlie! Are you getting the picture here? It's one of my favorite places to shop. For the baubles!

I've got a plain tan scarf. That I'm just going to drape. I think it will give the same effect. And I have some cute tan shoes. Not a flat. But not too much of a heel. Perfect for a little date. Oh, and my bag. My favorite brown bag, will be perfect!!

Honestly, I think it will be a fun outfit. To go with an equally fun day. Scott and I are planning on heading to the Farmers' Market. Then a little shopping around the city. And a casual dinner. Maybe something fun after. Secretly, I'm hoping he planned a Bowling Night. We haven't done that in forever!! ~V

Fashion Friday: Comfort

This has been such a fun week! Actually, it's opened my eyes to a whole new world. Not to sound too cheesy. But this week, got me thinking. Of the things I could be doing. Career wise. If I looked in another direction.

I adore working, in the hospital setting. But I don't always feel like I'm being "heard." Or even like I really have a positive influence, on the lives' of my patients. I would like to meet people, before they were sick. Not when they are in the hospital, and forced on a new diet....

But let's look past that. I'll continue to weigh the pros and cons. But for this post, it's all about comfort. All week, I've been so comfortable at work! So comfy. It's not even funny!! But I still feel "put together." I wanted this same feeling, for the weekend. I'm meeting some friends, for some wedding stuff. And I really wanted to feel comfortable.

What can I say? Pinterest came to the rescue again! Thank goodness!! I remembered this pin, from a few months ago. And how much I adored the look. It was so put together. But comfy. Perfect for the chilly weather. :)

Can we begin with the palette? I adore it! The soft hues. It's so ladylike. Classic. And chic. Something that is super easy, to replicate. In fact, I think this would be a nice outfit, to wear for a casual Valentine's Day date.

Well, I'm not a huge fan of the torn jeans, I like the shape, and wash of these jeans. Actually, I own 2 similar pairs. Just not torn. And no, I won't be cutting up my jeans....

You see that sweater? I might just be that woman, who has 2 drawers, of similar sweaters. Why? Because they're comfy! And I saved them from my days in college. :) And that tunic, I just bought 3. In a similar shape. But different colors. Black, this dusty pink, and a dusty lavender. They are super comfy!

And thanks to my love of accessories, I just have to pick out my favorite pink scarf, flats, bag, and bracelets....from my own closet. We're not going to talk about my collection of accessories. Just know, I never spend too much money on them. I frequent Charming Charlie, Target, Forever 21, The Icing, Payless etc. I don't like to spend too much money, on things like this. But they are always fun, to add character, into an outfit! ~V

Fashion Friday: Something New

Next week, I'm going to be doing a little "Community Nutrition" education. Pretty much, I'll be teaching at various places, around the city. I'll be teaching healthy eating, to a few groups of teens. And diabetic cooking classes, to some families.

This generally means "dressing down." I definitely don't have to be as dressed up, as I am for work at the hospital. But still "put together." I mean, I can't go in sweats. But a full suit or dress and blazer....they just don't have a place in these activities.

I took to Pinterest. I needed a little help. And I definitely wanted to try a few new ideas. That's what lead me here....

What do you think? I like this. Really like this! I've got a few cardigans. OK, a ton! But they are a staple in my "work wardrobe." And a cardigan really does dress up, any outfit! I'm thinking I can wear some dark jeans, a similar colored cardigan, and my black and white polka dot blouse. It will give a similar look. Without me having to go shopping. :)

The idea of the belt, makes me smile. It's unexpected. But so fun! My metallic flats, will appreciate being worn out. Am I the only one, that wears their shoes in the house? And only in the house. I know. I am a bit weird!

One outfit down. Four more to go. Outfits like this, will make it easy to run around, still look "pulled together," and allow me to cook. This is going to be a fun week! ~V

Fashion Friday: Feeling Blue

It's winter. No doubt about that. And I'm gravitating towards the more "icy" colors. Blues, purples, and greys. I need to stop that! But with the cold temps, that's what I always want to put on. Scott even made a comment about it. That for weeks, he can bet, that I'll be wearing something blue....

It's OK. To be 100% honest, I've been a little "blue." It's the weather. It's some stuff going on at work. It's post-holidays. Not being able to be with our families. All that stuff adds up. So I'm OK, with this palette. Actually, I'm embracing it! And I found the perfect outfit, for a day of shopping with my friends!

I have very similar pieces sitting in my closet. My mom actually bought me a grey scarf, similar sized and shaped tote, and flats. All for Christmas. I'm very lucky! During my Christmas shopping, I picked up a few silver and blue accessories at Charming Charlie. That store gets me every time!

The actual tops, pants and sweater....they are staples in my closet. I mean who doesn't own a white t-shirt? And I've got a ridiculous amount of camis. Thank you Old Navy!! Name the color, and I'll show it to you. :)

Now my navy cardigan isn't as cute. It's just a basic cardigan. But it will do the trick. But that navy nail polish. I'm just not so sure. I don't really paint my nails too dark. But Manders suggested I try it out. With an inexpensive polish from the drugstore. So I'll definitely be stopping by Walgreen's, on my way home today! ~V

Fashion Friday: Denim

On my little journey here, I've been looking for clothes I can wear on the weekend. Or during my "down time." I want to look for outfits, that use the clothes I already have. I don't want to be buying something new, every week. OK, I'd LOVE to buy something new. But my paycheck, and Scott wouldn't be too happy with that!

I decided on this look today. Mostly because I have all the pieces. I like how casual and chic this is. And I like the mix of pieces. It's something I wouldn't normally do.

I like the dark denim, with the lighter colored denim shirt. The dark jeans, make this a little more "dressy." The shirt makes it, oh so comfy! The mix of tan, black, and grey accessories, just makes me smile! I feel like I'm breaking all the rules!!

When I was growing up, I remember my grandma telling me, not to mix brown and black accessories. But I like the way it looks. I first seen Lola do this. With her cowboy boots. And it's adorable! And this infinity scarf....I've been wanting to buy one!. OK, so I am buying something this week. :) But really, I can see myself using it until May! ~V

Meatless Monday: Creamy Roasted Tomato Soup

Welcome to Meatless Monday! I want to share with you, a new recipe. Meatless. Hold your horses there. If you are anything like Scott, you are about to pass out!! I remember, almost four years ago, when I brought this up to Scott. Meatless Mondays. No meat. Not at dinner. He didn't understand. Thought I was going nuts!!

Then in January 2010, we took the plunge. Stopped eating meat on Mondays. Not just at dinner. But all day long!! And my carnivore, learned a new way to living. Was it easy? Not really. Scott lives on meat and potatoes. It's all he ever wants. All day long! But I knew I had to do this, for both of us.

It's taken some time, but we've adjusted. We've learned new things. Tried so many recipes! Found new blogs to love. And collected a good stash of recipes. It doesn't mean that I've stopped looking. But it's helped me, to get a start.

From now on, I'm going to share some sort of Meatless Monday recipe with you. Something that I found, and love. Or something that sounds so interesting. That I must try it! I hope you get on board with me. Or that you are at least, encouraged to try something new. And as always, if you have something you want to share, email me at ImAViolet (at) hotmail (dot) com.

Our first Meatless Monday recipe, comes from one of my favorite blogs! V.K. Rees Photography. I first found this blog, on Pinterest. I found some yummy looking pins. And started to follow a few links. Before I knew it, I was here!! What a delight.

It's still cool around here. Not cold. Like in other parts of the country. I live in Texas. And well, the weather has a mind of it's own here. Not really cold. But it's still winter. And I still crave a good soup. Months ago, I found this recipe. For Creamy Roasted Tomato Soup with a Bread Crust. Yum!!

When I first read over the recipe, it sounded a bit complicated. To be 100% honest, I wasn't going to try it. But then, I had a free weekend. Scott was gone working. And I was a gal, with many hours of free time.

I made a quick dash to the store. And tackled this recipe. All I can say is yum! This is know a regular of ours. And not just on Mondays. It's that good. Scott likes to eat this, with a pork chop. You know, when it's not Monday. It surprises me, how many times he requests this recipe. And it's only been a few months, since I first found it. I can see us eating this yummy soup, for years to come!! That crust, makes the entire soup! It's like a yummy biscuit....that you dunk into the soup.

I'd definitely recommend trying this out. It's super tasty. Not too difficult. And well, something yummy, to warm your belly. Hope you like it too! ~V

Fashion Friday: Chic and Simple

This is my first crack at Fashion Friday. I wanted to start with something really simple. Something not too far out of my comfort zone. If you read my post on Tuesday, you know I like fashion. I just don't know how to make it work for me.

When I found this picture on Pinterest, I was drawn in. It's simple. Something I could pull off. Heck, I have most of these pieces in my closet. Or something very similar. White button down....check. Skinny jeans....I have a few pairs. Those shoes. Don't tell anyone, I bought a very similar pair at Payless. Almost 3 years ago. And they're still in the box!

For the items that I don't have, I've been looking for them. :) Yes, I've been doing a little shopping. Spending some of my gift cards, from Christmas. I've been looking for a similar jacket. I've seen one, at Target. But it's dusty pink. Similar structure....and color palette. I might have to bite the bullet. I really want it!!

As far as the bag, again, I seen one at Target. I'd love it for work! Something to carry my laptop, and all my work goodies. I'm not a huge fan of the cuff or scarf. I like the idea. But not the ones on this picture. I'm thinking, a copper cuff. Still big. But more streamlined. And an infinity scarf. Same color palette, but different print. Maybe something floral. What do you think?

Let me know what's inspiring you, these days. Or send me a picture, that inspires you. You can email me at ImAViolet (at) hotmail (dot) com. I'd love to see some new ideas! ~V

Happy 2013!!

Happy New Year!! How did you ring in 2013? We enjoyed time with our friends. :) And then slept in. Way in! As in, after 10 this morning!!

While laying in bed, I had an idea. I wanted to actually do something with my blog. I wanted to get inspired. Put myself on a bit of a "writing schedule." I'll never be like Lola. Posting all the time. But if I pick a few topics, I hope to be better.

What will I write about? I'm going to try and document my life more. My life with Scott. The things we enjoy. What we are currently doing. Things like that. Hoping that our families will know more, about what we do. We don't see them as much as we'd like. But we want them to know, what we're up to!

The big things I want to start, is a weekly series. 2 actually! Meatless Monday. And Fashion Friday. On Meatless Monday, I want to introduce you to a new recipe. A meatless, but tasty meal. Something that we will be trying. And something that I hope you try in the future. Something that you will eventually incorporate into your recipe schedule. It's just a part of my dietitian self, that I want to share.

And on Fridays, I want to start Fashion Friday. I'm a big fan of fashion. You'd never know it though. I buy lots of cute clothes. But I don't necessarily wear them. And I don't always know how to wear them. I'm going to turn to Pinterest and Polyvore for some inspiration.

What are some of your goals for 2013? I'd love to hear all about them. Other than blogging, one major goal for us, is getting married. I know! I'd also like to include more time with Scott. Quality time. Just Scott and me. Getting back to the basics. I can't wait to see what 2013 has in store for us! ~V
